Managing recurring software subscriptions requires knowing where billing settings reside. On Canva, all subscription configurations are tied directly to your account profile. After navigating to canva.com and signing in, locate the top navigation bar. Here you will find the gear icon representing Account Settings. Clicking this opens your main account management dashboard. From the left sidebar menu, select 'Billing & plans'. This tab provides complete visibility into your current active tier, whether you are on a free trial, Canva Free, or a paid Canva Pro subscription.

Practical work

  1. Open a browser and navigate to canva.com.
  2. Log into your Canva account.
  3. Click the Settings gear icon in the top navigation header.
  4. Select 'Billing & plans' from the left sidebar.

Lesson 1.2: Reviewing Subscription Terms and Cancelling

Within the 'Billing & plans' section, Canva details your active subscription card. For accounts on trial, it clearly highlights the trial expiration date and the rate that will be charged upon renewal. To the right of the plan description, there is a three dots (...) action button. Clicking this icon reveals administrative options for the team or personal plan. The options displayed include 'Cancel plan', 'Manage members', and 'Update payment method'. Selecting 'Cancel plan' prompts Canva to initiate the cancellation process, ensuring no subsequent charges occur on your linked payment method.

Practical work

  1. Locate your subscription card in 'Billing & plans'.
  2. Check the trial end date and upcoming recurring charge amount.
  3. Click the three horizontal dots (...) button next to your plan card.
  4. Identify the 'Cancel plan' option in the resulting dropdown menu.
