The native Instagram mobile application does not expose a single-click deletion button directly on the primary settings screen. To access deletion options, users must open their profile by tapping their profile icon in the bottom right corner. From the profile screen, opening the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner reveals options including 'Settings'. Under 'Settings', selecting 'Help' brings up support options, where tapping 'Help Center' connects to Instagram's web documentation system.

Section 2: Executing Permanent Account Deletion

Within the Help Center, locate the search bar at the top of the interface. Typing 'How to delete' populates predictive search queries. Tap the first query: 'How do I delete my Instagram account?'. Review the support article to find the section titled 'To request the permanent deletion of your account'. Tap the blue hyperlink labeled 'Delete Your Account'. The operating system will prompt you to choose an application to handle the link. Select a web browser like Google Chrome.

Finally, tap the 'Delete [username]' button at the bottom. A browser dialog will prompt you with 'Are you sure you want to delete your account?'. Selecting 'OK' confirms the deletion.
